Keith Urban Honors Musicians Lost in 2016 in Medley. Nicole Kidman Decides He Needs a Little Help

Keith Urban rang in the new year in Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife Nicole Kidman by his side.

As Taste of Country reports, the country singer took part in the free Jack Daniel’s Music City Midnight: New Year’s Eve show at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.

During the concert, Urban made sure to honor the musicians that we lost in 2016 before the clock struck midnight. The country singer kicked off his medley with George Michael’s Wham! hit, “Careless Whisper.” He kept the tribute going with Glenn Frey’s “Take It Easy,“ Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” Merle Haggard’s “Mama Tried,” Prince’s “Purple Rain,“ and David Bowie’s “Heroes.”

Kidman made a surprise appearance by joining her husband on stage while he sang “Heroes,” which the actress also sang with Ewan McGregor in the 2001 film “Moulin Rouge,” when the pair performed the song as part of “Elephant Love Medley.”
