Steve Scalise Makes Emotional Return to Congress to the Applause of Both Parties

Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) made his return to the floor of the House of Representatives Thursday after being critically wounded at a Congressional Baseball Game practice in June.

Ahead of Scalise’s return to Congress, “CBS This Morning” previewed a clip of an interview the congressman gave to “60 Minutes.”

“The hip and pelvis had serious damage where the bullet went through and, you know, did some damage to areas that had to be shored up with steel plates, and then they did a phenomenal job of rebuilding, you know, kind of the rebuilding Humpty Dumpty,” Scalise said of his injuries. “I mean, there were, there was a lot of damage inside that had to get fixed.”
