Dem Senator Plans to Rally with Trump at Indiana Tax Reform Event

President Trump is set to hold a tax reform rally Wednesday in Indiana, and in continuing with his recent bipartisan streak, a Democratic senator is set to appear alongside him.

Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) said in a press release Tuesday announcing the appearance: “It’s an honor to welcome President Trump to Indiana, and I hope he has an opportunity to hear directly from Hoosiers on an issue that impacts not only our families but our economy.”

“I’m pleased the president has been supportive of my proposal to address the outsourcing of American jobs,” Donnelly added, “and I am hopeful that any tax reform proposal includes measures that support American workers as well as the middle class and encourage domestic investments.”

After what is likely another failure on health care reform, the Trump administration appears to be pivoting its attention toward tax reform – and working across the aisle has been effective recently for the president, who cut a deal with Democrats on hurricane relief and extending government funding.

Trump’s speech on tax reform is set to take place at the Farm Bureau Building at the Indiana State Fairgrounds at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
