Feds Reveal Details About Anthony Weiner’s Sexting Scandal

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s (D-NY) saga continued Wednesday when federal prosecutors revealed horrible details about his sexting scandal with a 15-year-old girl.

In court papers filed just days before his Sept. 25 sentencing, prosecutors claimed Weiner took part in three online video calls during which he convinced the young girl to strip and fondle herself while he watched.

From the court filing, via the New York Post:

During the latter two Skype sessions, on February 18 and 23, 2016, and in a Shapchat communication on March 9, the defendant used graphic and obscene language to ask the minor victim to display her naked body and touch herself, which she did.

All of that happened even after the teenager “made clear that she was not just a minor — she was, in fact, only 15 years old.” Nevertheless, that “did not stop Weiner,” the feds asserted.

The 53-year-old former lawmaker also sent the girl an “obscene message” using a messaging app called Confide, in which he detailed “what he would do to her, if she were 18,” the court papers stated.

Prosecutors said Weiner also sent “adult pornography” to the underage girl.

The feds noted Weiner’s past “interest in legal, adult, teen-themed pornography” as proof that his claim that the teenager’s age played no role in his attraction to her is “hollow.”

these details are also disturbing given Weiner co-sponsored a 2007 bill – Keep the Internet Devoid of Sexual Predators (KIDS) Act – that would have required sex offenders to register their online accounts, such as emails, and stay off social networking sites like Facebook and Myspace.

“With that depth of awareness,” prosecutors said, “the fact that the defendant engaged in the instant conduct suggests a dangerous level of denial and lack of self-control warranting a meaningful incarceratory sentence.”

For her part, the teenager involved with Weiner recently told “Inside Edition” that many of the congressman’s messages were too vulgar to be repeated. She said Weiner frequently referred to her as “gorgeous” and told her she had a body that’s “pretty insane.”

“I was disgusted,” she said in early September.
