Scaramucci Tells Colbert He Would Fire Steve Bannon if He Could

While appearing on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci said he would fire White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon if given the chance.

“If it was up to me, he would be gone,” Scaramucci said of Bannon.

Scaramucci tore into Bannon during the segment, naming Bannon as one of the leakers and suggesting that he tolerated white supremacy.

Host Stephen Colbert had asked Scaramucci about white supremacist David Duke backing President Donald Trump at a protest in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday. After Colbert asked whether there were “elements of white supremacy” in the White House, Scaramucci said, “No.”

Although Scaramucci denied thinking that Bannon was a “white supremacist,” he said he didn’t like the “toleration” of it in the White House. Of discrimination, Scaramucci said he found it “disgusting and reprehensible” and that he would “renounce it every living day of [his] life.”
