Trump’s Lawyers Knew About Don Jr.’s Russia Emails Weeks Before Public Knew

President Donald Trump’s attorney knew back in June about emails exchanged prior to his son’s meeting with Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya.

In the third week of June, both Trump’s attorney Marc Kasowitz and the Trump Organization’s Chief Legal Officer Alan Garten received information about the emails after Jared Kushner’s attorneys discovered them.

Familiar with the matter, two sources told Yahoo News of the revelation, which prompted Kushner, one of Trump’s senior advisers, to alter his security clearance form to indicate he met with Donald Trump Jr. and Veselnitskaya during the 2016 presidential campaign.

News of that particular meeting prompted Trump Jr. to deny previously telling his father, who claimed ignorance of the meeting until it emerged in media reports.

Yahoo’s report did not claim, however, that Trump’s lawyers told him about his son’s meeting.

During an interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity on Tuesday, Trump Jr. denied knowingly engaging in any illegal activity associated with the meeting.
