CNN’s ‘The Nineties’ Premiere Beats Out Competitors

CNN’s original series “The Nineties” premiered at the top of the ratings lists for adults 25-54 years old and 18-34 years old.

The series grabbed more total viewers than MSNBC and Fox News, and it attracted more 18- to 34-year-olds than MSNBC and Fox News combined. A total of 1.141 million viewers tuned in to watch the series on Sunday, according to Nielsen data released by CNN.

Specifically, CNN saw 177,000 18- to 34-year-olds tune in on Sunday, while Fox News and MSNBC saw only 44,000 and 23,000, respectively. The program ranked in the top spot among that age group and 25- to 54-year-olds, as well.

According to CNN, the series focuses on entertainment, politics, and race in the 1990s. It beat out CNN’s other similar series, “The Seventies” and “The Sixties.”
