Walmart Employees Make Horrifying Discovery Inside Locked Bathroom

Employees at an Oklahoma Walmart discovered the body of a dead woman locked inside a family restroom Monday after assuming the restroom was out of order for days.

The dead woman, identified by police as 29-year-old Katherine Caraway, was found locked inside the bathroom at the Sandy Springs Walmart, according to KOKI-TV in Tulsa, Okla.

Prior to the discovery, employees had placed an “out of order” sign on the door of the family restroom after finding it was locked from the inside.

Maintenance employees made the shocking discovery two days later.

The store’s security cameras recorded the woman entering and leaving the store Friday, according to Sandy Springs Police Capt. Tod Enzbrenner.

“We’re searching through the video and talking to as many people as we can to find out her story, where she’s from,” Enzbrenner told the Tusla World.

It’s not clear how long the woman was locked inside the bathroom.

Investigators are now reviewing between 72-96 hours of security camera footage to piece together the events that led to the woman’s death.

Police say their preliminary investigation shows no signs of foul play leading to Caraway’s death. Investigators believed she died of natural causes.

“There was nothing suspicious that indicated her cause of death at the scene,” Enzbrenner said. “So the medical examiner will have to determine it.”

Enzbrenner said Caraway, a native of Texas who lived in Muskogee, Okla., had no immediate connection to Sand Springs.

Walmart said they were “saddened” upon learning of the woman’s death.

“We are saddened by this,” Walmart said in a statement. “We don’t know all the facts right now, but we are working closely with local law enforcement to provide what information we have that might be useful. Because this is an ongoing investigation, we must refer you to them for additional information.”
