Ivanka Trump Says She Tries to ‘Stay Out of Politics’

Ivanka Trump, assistant and eldest daughter to President Donald Trump, appeared in an interview on the morning talk show “Fox & Friends” on Monday where she claimed that she does her best to “stay out of politics.”

Ivanka said:

“I try to stay out of politics. His [President Trump’s] political instincts are phenomenal… He did something pretty remarkable, but I don’t profess to be a political savant. So I leave the politics to other people, and really lean into the issues that I care deeply about.”

Prior to her being a part of the White House staff, Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, played roles in the Trump campaign. Ivanka even spoke at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.

Last week, Ivanka met with Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) where they reportedly discussed “pro-family” tax reform and paid family leave policies.

Ivanka said she advises her father on “a plethora of things,” and while she did not name specific issues where she and her father differ on policy positions, she did say there are disagreements.
