Trump Responds to Comey’s Prepared Testimony Via Attorney: ‘Completely and Totally Vindicated’

President Donald Trump on Wednesday responded through his outside counsel to the release of former FBI Director James Comey’s prepared testimony.

Trump’s lawyer claimed the president feels “completely and totally vindicated.”

“The President is pleased that Mr. Comey has finally publicly confirmed his private reports that the President was not under investigation in any Russian probe,“ the statement read. ”The President feels completely and totally vindicated. He is eager to continue to move forward with his agenda.”

It’s true that Comey revealed that he informed Trump on several occasions that he was not personally under investigation.

However, the prepared testimony also confirmed past reports that Trump told Comey he hoped Comey could “let go” of the FBI’s investigation into Michael Flynn and detailed a one-on-one dinner in which Trump asked for the then-FBI director’s loyalty.

“I need loyalty, I expect loyalty,” Trump said, according to Comey.
