Exposing Hillary So She Won't Get Elected

House Democrats Shut Down Eager Liberals Who Want to Impeach Trump

Top House Democrats are taking a pause on the premature impeachment talks and are advising others to follow their lead.

Urging Democrats to wait and see what the facts are, the senior Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), told The Hill:

“The hearings this week are going to be very important to understand what role the president played in the effort to derail any part of the Russia investigation, as has been alleged. But I don’t want to leap to any conclusions about what we’ll ultimately find or what the consequences should be.”

Similarly, Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA), vice chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, told reporters:

“A majority of the Caucus is of the belief that we ought to allow the investigation to continue to its logical conclusion before making any determination.”

These comments were made just a few hours after Rep. Al Green (D-TX) announced that he has begun drafting articles of impeachment. Green believes Trump’s firing of former FBI Director James Comey was an obstruction of justice and therefore is impeachable.

However, top Democrats are worried that colleagues like Green will jeopardize the investigation by politicizing it. They’re also worried if they politicize it too much, then Republicans will call it a witch-hunt and drop the investigation.

Others agree that this has to be a nonpartisan investigation process. According to The Hill, Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD) said:

“In order to take the politics out of it — for the benefit of the country — we need to make sure we get the facts and the elements of what we have to prove. And we’re not there yet.”

The next step in the Russia-Investigation is Comey’s Senate hearing, which is going to take place at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday.
