BuzzFeed Thinks that the McDonald’s Logo Symbolizes a Mother’s Breasts

So…in the latest fit of insane information over at BuzzFeed, there seems to be this little tidbit of knowledge that that the famous Golden Arches are more than what they appear to be.

According to BuzzFeed, the Golden Arches stand for more than the “M” in McDonald’s. Apparently, when everyone thought about revamping the logo in the 1960s, a psychologist argued that the company keep the logo, because it resembled a mother’s breasts and therefore made us attracted to it. Because a mother’s breasts = nourishment. This isn’t a joke either, Louis Cheskin, the design consultant and psychologist at the time, actually made that argument.

Let it be noted that the logo was not designed to symbolize a mother’s breasts from the start. This is just something a psychologist said back in the ’60s. Although, say what you will, but he did win the argument. McDonald’s ultimately kept the logo.

Thus, here is BuzzFeed’s new infographic:

So there you go, enjoy your next Big Mac I suppose.
