CNN Shows Why Americans No Longer Trust the Media After Their Anti-Trump Message

In response to the Washington Post report stating that President Donald Trump shared sensitive intelligence information with Russian officials, CNN on Tuesday questioned whether Trump is “competent” enough to hold his current job.

“Is Trump competent enough be President?” CNN’s chyron read.

Moments before that, CNN’s Poppy Harlow introduced the segment by rehashing New York Times columnist David Brooks’s latest piece, titled “When the World Is Led By a Child.” Brooks writes:

“From all we know so far, Trump didn’t do it because he is a Russian agent, or for any malevolent intent. He did it because he is sloppy, because he lacks all impulse control, and above all because he is a 7-year-old boy desperate for the approval of those he admires.”

What followed was a panel discussion with former GOP senator, Rick Santorum, and former White House Communications Director Jen Psaki trying to answer that question.

“Is the President competent to do the job?” CNN’s Poppy Harlow asked.

Santorum danced around the question a bit, saying he is “concerned” about the revelation but that is a “manageable” situation.

This coincides with an ongoing trend of the the media being unable to objectively cover stories involving Trump, which might be the reason why Americans’ trust in media is still so low.
