President Trump Directly Tells Reporters Real Reason for Firing Comey

President Donald Trump does not mince words.

On Wednesday he kept to that when he told reporters the truth as to why FBI director James Comey was fired.

“Because he wasn’t doing a good job, very simply. He was not doing a good job,” he told reporters.

The president made the statement as reporters were gathered in the Oval Office to document his meeting with former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

President Trump shook his head “no” when reporters asked if the Comey firing affected his meeting earlier in the day with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

They were the first comments the president spoke on the Comey firing, but he did tweet about it on Wednesday.
