Dem Claims He’s Seen Smoking Gun on Trump and Russia – Watch His Reaction When He’s Asked to Prove It

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) made the explosive claim on Monday that he has personally seen evidence of collusion between President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia.

Such a revelation would be huge, as even former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has said he has seen no concrete evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia.

“I have seen evidence, both on the unclassified and classified side, of collusion,” Swalwell told CNN.

That’s when CNN anchor Poppy Harlow requested that Swalwell share the unclassified “evidence” showing the alleged collusion. As it turned out, Swalwell did not appear to have the smoking gun he claimed.

The Democrat was unable to provide any new information, instead repeating details from reports about questionable activity of former Trump advisers Carter Page, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, and Michael Flynn.

“These all may be questionable activity, some of them may actually be in violation of the law, but what you have said on CNN is you have seen evidence of collusion between Trump campaign associates and the Russians,” CNN’s John Berman replied.

When pressed further to produce evidence to back up his “incendiary charge,” Swalwell claimed he has “a lot more” examples of collusion in addition to what he shared.

“That’s not evidence of collusion,” Berman shot back. “That’s evidence, again, of possible wrongdoing, it’s evidence of sketchy activities, but not, as far as I can tell, that they were actually working together on the campaign.”

In the end, Swalwell fell back on his assertion that there is more classified evidence of collusion that he is not able to share.
