President’s ‘Threatening a Witness’: CNN is ‘disturbed by Trump’s Yates Tweet, But Wait Until…

With former Attorney General Sally Yates expected to testify Monday afternoon before a Senate subcommittee, President Trump asked his own question about classified information getting leaked to the newspapers.

The question was enough to upset CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, claiming that Trump crossed the line of expected behavior from a president, who was “threatening a witness.”

“It just shows how much the norms of behavior have changed,” Toobin said Monday. “The idea of the President of the United States essentially threatening a witness, he’s basically accusing her of leaking, we have never had that before.”

Not to mention that Trump was just asking a question.

“We’ve never had presidents who did this kind of thing,” Toobin added. “The idea that the president — the guy who’s in charge of the Justice Department — is threatening a witness is really kind of disturbing.”
