Debra Messing Unloads Verbal Assault on Ivanka Trump, Calls Her ‘The Secretary of Straight’

Whenever there is a Hollywood event, you can bet that someone is going to insult President Trump.

Some are now placing their attention at Ivanka Trump though.

During the 2017 GLAAD Media Awards in New York City Saturday evening, “Will & Grace” actress Debra Messing was being honored for the Excellence in Media Award.

Messing brought up that her hit show “Will & Grace,” one of the most popular gay-friendly shows to ever be on TV, would be coming back this fall, where she excitedly shouted to the crowd:

“It’s time to make America gay again!”

The actress who played the heterosexual best friend of gay character “Will” then changed the tone and said, “Unless you’re an unenlightened straight, cisgender, white man, you are a target.”

Messing continued with her attack on President Trump:

“Right now there is a very bad and very orange man in our White House … at least a few days a month.”

While Messing refused to say Donald Trump’s name, she did say there is “someone I would like to make a direct appeal to today.”

“It is the secretary of straight state, Ivanka Trump.”

While addressing Ivanka, Messing jokingly said they should talk “one Jewish mother to another” before adding the following:

“It’s not enough to simply say that women’s issues are important to you. It’s time to do something. You can change the lives of millions of women and children just by telling your dad stories about real people who are suffering.”

The actress then accused her father of acting counter to mothers’ best interests everywhere, pleading for Ivanka to not let her father “separate immigrant mothers from their American-born children” or “let him take healthcare away from women who need it.”

Messing continued:

“Ivanka please stop blindly defending your father and start defending what you say you believe in. You can’t just write #womenwhowork and think you’re advancing feminism. You need to be a woman who does good work. #saywhatyoumeanandmeanwhatyousay.”
