Michelle Malkin Gives Powerful Retort for Jimmy Kimmel About The Obamacare Part of His Sick Child Monologue

Late-night TV talk show host Jimmy Kimmel started his show Monday with a tearful monologue about the birth of his son back in April – who needed open-heart surgery within hours of him being born.

Towards the end of his monologue he mentioned Obamacare’s pre-existing condition policy, but some people criticized him for using the story of his son in a political manner.

One of those who criticized Kimmel was conservative political pundit Michelle Malkin – who, as it turns out, also has a child with a chronic illness. In a Wednesday tweet, Malkin shared her experiences with Obamacare:

As National Review detailed in June 2016, Malkin’s teenage daughter, Veronica, suffers from multiple comorbidities — chronic illnesses.

While Kimmel would have been able to cover his son’s surgery out of pocket, he tearfully suggested that a repeal of Obamacare lead to the death of children less fortunate.

“If your baby is going to die and it doesn’t have to, it shouldn’t matter how much money you make.”

President Donald Trump said on CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday that “pre-existing conditions are in the (GOP) bill,” adding: “I mandate it.” But, as CNN reported, those with pre-existing conditions could be charged substantially higher premiums through “high-risk pools.”

House Republican leaders held a vote on the American Health Care Act Thursday where it was passed and now it will be going to senate.
