Berkeley Mayor Belongs to Violent Leftist Group ‘BAMN’

Jesse Arreguin, mayor of Berkeley, California, has been dealing with a few conservatives being prohibited from speaking at the University of California at Berkeley. It has now been revealed that Arreguin is involved with the leftist group named “BAMN,” which stands for “By Any Means Necessary.”

Arreguin’s personal Facebook page even shows that he is an active member of “BAMN.”

BAMN’s official website describes the organization as “a mass, democratic, integrated, national organization dedicated to building a new mass civil rights movement to defend affirmative action, integration, and the other gains of the civil rights movement of the 1960s and to advance the struggle for equality in American society by any means necessary.”

Its statement of principles adds that the organization will “employ whatever means are necessary to oppose and defeat…attacks on the democratic and egalitarian aspirations and struggles of our people.”

BAMN has a long history of using violent tactics and measures to ensure that they forbid anyone from presenting an opinion different than their own. In Sacramento, California, BAMN member Yvette Felarca can be seen in the video below attacking a protester and punching him repeatedly when an altercation broke out at a white nationalist rally.

The revelation of Arreguin’s membership to BAMN comes on the heels of conservative speakers Ann Coulter and Milo Yiannopoulos being prevented from speaking at UC Berkeley this year.
