Ted Cruz Pulls Out Surprise Map During Debate With Sanders to Make a Point About Trump & Obamacare

Sen. Ted Cruz pulled out a surprise map during his town hall debate with Sen. Bernie Sanders on CNN Tuesday night to make a point about the problems facing Obamacare.

Cruz argued that in 70 percent of counties in America, consumers have a choice of one or two health insurance plans on the Obamacare exchanges.

“It’s interesting, you look at this map, this also very much looks like the electoral map that elected Donald Trump,” Cruz said, holding up the map of the counties. “It’s really quite striking that the communities that have been hammered by this disaster of a law said, ‘Enough already.’”

Sanders said that Obamacare needs to be improved, but he strongly disagreed that it should be repealed and replaced as Republicans vowed to do under President Donald Trump.

Cruz responded by saying that free market competition is needed in the health insurance industry, saying long wait times and “rationing” of care always result when government is in control of health care.
