37-Year-Old Man Who Was Shamed For Asking A Minor On A Date Claims To Be A Victim Of Ageism

A 37-year-old man has been banned from a Starbucks in Spokane, Washington after asking a barista on a date.

Now, that may not sound like a big deal, but the problem is that the barista was 16-years-old.

The next day, the same man returned to the Spokane Starbucks and was confronted by a police officer, who told him he was no longer allowed in that specific location.

Officers say businesses can ban anyone they feel is “causing trouble” or “being disruptive”

Now, many people are probably assuming that the man didn’t know that the barista was so young. He probably thought she was much younger.

The problem is that the man had a hunch that she was too young and asked her out anyway.

“I was flirted with by a barista. For some reason she thought I was funny. Said I was funny. So I gave her a note to see if she’d be interested in dinner,” the man wrote in a public Facebook post.

“I know the female Starbucks barista was of legal age to date. I broke no laws. I merely took a chance with my heart. I’m tired of hearing the word ‘creep’ as any black person or gay person is tired of hearing certain words. I have a whole webpage dedicated to age gap love,” he continued in his post.

Apparently this guy is a victim now of ageism.

“We have no tolerance for any such inappropriate behavior or harassment, and we will continue to support our store partners and local authorities investigating the situation,” a Starbucks spokesperson said.

The fact that this man is making such a big deal over this is what probably makes it even stranger.

Things would be different if it was an honest mistake and he just didn’t realize how young the girl was, but it is hard to argue that being the case, especially when he has an entire website dedicated to combating the “age love gap.”
