Sean Hannity traveled to the Ecuadorian embassy in London to interview WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange one-on-one. Fox News aired the exclusive interview and it was really interesting.
Once again, Assange said his sources weren’t the Russians.
“Can you say to the American people, unequivocally, that you did not get this information about the DNC, John Podesta’s emails, can you tell the American people 1,000 percent that you did not get it from Russia or anybody associated with Russia?” Hannity asked.
“Yes. We can say, we have said, repeatedly that over the last two months that our source is not the Russian government and it is not a state party,” Assange said.
“We published several … emails which show Podesta responding to a phishing email,” Assange added. “Podesta gave out that his password was the word ‘password’. His own staff said this email that you’ve received, this is totally legitimate. So, this is something … a 14-year-old kid could have hacked Podesta that way.”
Hannity tried to take it a step further and asked Assange if his source came from inside the United States, but Assange wouldn’t divulge. Protecting sources is his top priority, that much is evident.
So the Russians didn’t assist WikiLeaks. Does President Obama know this?
“Well, he is acting like a lawyer,” Assange said. “If you look at most of his statements he doesn’t say that. He doesn’t say WikiLeaks obtained its information from Russia, worked with Russia.”
He is right. Obama has been very careful about his word choice.
As Assange noted, it is also interesting how no one is disputing the contents of the actual emails. They are all true, and the left knows this.
“Our publications had wide uptake by the American people, they’re all true. But that’s not the allegation that’s being presented by the Obama White House. So, why such a dramatic response? Well, the reason is obvious. They’re trying to delegitimize the Trump administration as it goes into the White House. They are trying to say that President-elect Trump is not a legitimate President,” Assange stated.
“Our source is not a state party, so the answer for our interactions is no,” he continued. “But if we look at our most recent statement from the US government, which is on the 29th of December, OK, we had five different branches of government, Treasury, DHS, FBI, White House presenting their accusations to underpin Obama’s throwing out 29 Russian diplomats. What was missing from all of those statements? The word WikiLeaks. It’s very strange.”
